The Everyday Epicure

Because Food Should Not be an Acquired Taste...

16. Dear Irving

An elegant old-fashioned spot that features very good old fashioned cocktails. Excellent date spot but keep in mind the 25-45 minute wait to get in on weekdays. Enjoy the love seats and ring the bell rather than track down a waitress to get back to intimate conversation.

17. Gallow Green

Simplistic beauty done artfully inside a landmark NYC destination. A bit surprising but most of the dining options are communal tables. Go for a drink as the other side is much quieter and more private; shocking enough.

18. Apotheke

Unsuspecting Chinatown boasts quite the cocktail laboratory replete with black gloves and white lab coats. From the Faustian bottles to the 80s funk, it's quite the unusual bar but it works. What doesn't work is the limited cocktail menu and AC.

19. Bar 65

Touted as the tourist spot- Bar 65 at the Rainbow Room is an elegant rooftop bar with not only great views, but strong craft cocktails. Give it a shot sometime New Yorkers.

20. Gibson & Luce

Dial in by code at this speakeasy. Great food and very good cocktails at this simplistic beauty.

21. Hotel Chantelle

Famed tri-level bar with different options on each floor (dancing, lounging/burlesque, patio rooftop). That's right, Burlesque on 2 on the weekends at 10:30.

22. The Roof at Viceroy

The best views of Central Park at this 30th floor rooftop boasting sweet bourbon drinks and a good scene indoor and out.

23. Bar 54

Second highest rooftop bar in the city. Expensive cocktails but the views outside of the Hilton are worth it.

24. Death & Co.

Famed upscale, small, dark creative cocktail bar. Expect a 1.5-2 hour wait but luckily you just put in your name and get text updates. Expect drinks anywhere from 15-35 dollars.

25. The Jimmy

Nice rooftop that is half inside and half out with its centerpiece being a small pool ( that no one really goes in). What's underrated is the beautiful treehouse bar on 2 with many cozy alcoves.

26. Yotel

Hip, urban rooftop oasis on the West Side.An avenue and a couple streets away from The Press Lounge make this a great pairing place.

27. Upstairs at the Kimberly

Elegant, relaxed pace at this rooftop at the gorgeous Kimberly Hotel on Lexington and 50th. Good place to take the parents, the work crowd or a conversation-centric date.

28. The Park

Whatever your preferred scenery is, The Park has it. Sprawling and differentiated from others and even themselves, The Park is a great place to go out. Too bad everyone knows it.

29. Gansevoort Meatpacking

Alcoves galore at this 360% popular rooftop bar in one of the top 3 neighborhoods in NYC for going out. Don't expect the best cocktails but not a terrible singles scene for a rooftop.

30. Pod39

Charming brick rooftop with cute corners and neat archways. The Moroccan- vibe inside isn’t bad either.
