The Everyday Epicure

Because Food Should Not be an Acquired Taste...

Introduction

To all of those whom have come for their fill of fine food and craft cocktails, welcome! Even to those who stumbled upon my site accidentally, I hope you enjoy.

After years of hearing "you should have a blog!!", I finally decided to take the plunge. So here it goes...

Ever since I was a little tike, cuisine was a great interest of mine. Even at 2 years old I was a culinary innovator; mixing mashed potatoes and ice cream. While that combination may not have worked out, I've become a source of information for whatever it is you fancy. Looking for a great second date spot under $40 pp in a charming, comfy setting? Piattini's in Boston is your spot. Maybe you are on the hunt for the best eggplant this side of the Atlantic; check out Carmelin'as in the North End.

For years I've toyed with the idea of writing a blog and sharing my lists. And while Thrillist decided to beat me to the market on the sharing lists idea, I've finally come to realize what my niche will be. There are certainly no shortage of outlets and reviewers; you have Michelin to point out all the wonderful places in the world that apply to the .001 percent of dining occasions, you have Zagat who makes the Michelin word more relevant to everyday life but still gets caught up in the gastronomique flair of acquired tastes, and lastly you have Yelp to encapsulate the local vibe but does so on the more rudimentary end. Sure there are many more than just these three but you get the picture.

So what is that niche you may ask yourself? Well, in case you missed my slogan and website name :), it's a discerning tongue among the foods that everyone likes. Sure you can take a shot in the dark that your date loves calf's liver and really hit a home run, but let's increase our chance of success and frequent those places that consistently hit the mark with an array of options we know and love.

I thank you for stopping by my website and I welcome your commentary! Please feel free to write me at alex.dripchak@gmail.com with any ideas for lists and reviews or for one-off date, birthday, brunch or cocktail plans!
